I have so much to say........

.....but nothing really to speak of.

This week at work we celebrated International Pickle Week. We served a variety of pickles (and dill pickle chips) to our patients, had pickle facts, and picked our pickle preference. Dill was the winner! It's all a part of our "Barnett's Bizarre, Weird, Wild and Wacky Random Reasons for Revelry".

It's got me to thinking....

you need to find a reason to celebrate every day. Sometimes the little things have a big impact on your day, and dare I say life?!

Without pickles, America may not have been discovered! Columbus had them on board because they would last the long journey and fed them to his crew to prevent scurvy.

There have been days this year in which finding anything to be happy about was a difficult task but once I did, it made a huge impact on my outlook and relationships. It sounds almost silly once I think about all of the things and people I have been blessed with but sometimes you just gotta get over yourself and see past the crap.

So, in just celebrating pickles helps turn that frown upside-down. Plus, they are yummy!

Things are pretty good.

D's blood pressure is through the roof and therefore so is mine!

But did you know pickles are low in cholesterol, calories, fat and can help lower blood pressure?

YAY PICKLES!!

Revenge

Ok, so I'm addicted to Angry Birds.
I have way too many things to do around my house and for my job and for my family NOT to spend even 5 minutes on that stupid game. Yet I do.
AND......I can't beat level 6-15.
AND......my 5 year old is better at it than me.
AND.....I dont even like birds. (Boomerang Bird is NOT my friend)

But, silly as it is, this game has taught me two things:
1. I've been right all along - birds are angry and evil
2. Revenge and anger doesn't pay off. More of you dies to get nothing of value in return.

But deep down, I like seeing the birds fail.
Mwah ha ha!!
(Plus, I WILL NOT be beaten by a pre-schooler!)

But seriously, don't be vengeful or angry. You'll be ruffling your feathers and dive-bombing stone walls - and you still won't get your eggs back.
